Funnel Description: Part of the V&A Museum William Morris Inspired Collection, this pewter wine funnel features a classic grape and vine motif that was often used in the works of William Morris, 1834 - 1896, i.e., over a century ago. The distinctive motifs are taken from the ornamental borders William Morris used to decorate the works of Geoffrey Chaucer, 1896. It has a fine sieve to separate the wine sediment and cork. The funnel is shaped in such a way to ensure the smooth trickle of wine against the walls of the decanter. The slow and smooth pouring allows one to observe and enjoy the quality and clarity of the wine as it is being poured. The rim of the sieve is made of pewter. The funnel measures 8 cm D x 12 cm H.
